How I can install a network printer to a local computer that does not belong to any workgroup or domain?

I'm using Windows XP, and apparently there is a network printer connected to the network. The only thing is I'm using a computer that does not belong to any workgroup or domain. We tried using the IP placental printer to printer address but that just does not work ….

try setting up a new tcp / ip port when creating a new printer in Windows. Do you know the printers current IP address? Can you ping the printer? To see if the printer has a port (parallel, USB) and use it to connect localy printer to your PC.
