Hello, can I make a movie about classic stories? What about copyright?
Hello, can I make a movie about classic stories? Or as Henry and Mark Twain's. What about copyright? I mean these stories belong to the 19th century and all. please guide refers.
Deej is correct. Copyright expires in a few years after the author dies. Unfortunately, this number varies from country to country, so a history may be out of copyright in a country and copyrights on another. The issue also continues to receive larger, so the copyright lasts time and more time. Normally, the life of the author plus 70 years in Europe and the USA. I do not know how long in India. Both Mark Twain and O. Henry died in 1910, so that their stories should now be in the public domain. If a story is at Project Gutenberg (gutenberg.net) is out of copyright in the U.S., it does not say anything about whether it is out of copyright elsewhere.
